Richfield has been awarded full accreditation by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as an Independent Higher Education provider, strengthening its international credibility and reinforcing its commitment to quality education.
BAC is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body for private further and higher education providers. Its accreditation provides an internationally recognised mark of quality assurance, supported by a robust and systematic assessment of an institution’s educational provision against internationally benchmarked standards aligned with the European Standards and Guidelines.
For prospective students and parents, the accreditation provides additional assurance that Richfield’s institutional quality has undergone an independent external assessment. It offers a further basis for confidence when choosing a private higher education provider. This international endorsement also differentiates Richfield’s offering locally, giving students the opportunity to study at an institution whose quality has been assessed against both national requirements and international benchmarks.
For graduates considering international employment or postgraduate study, BAC accreditation provides an additional institutional credential to reference in their applications. It can help demonstrate to prospective employers and universities that their education was delivered by an institution assessed against internationally benchmarked quality standards.
“Achieving BAC accreditation recognises the work of our academic and professional teams to maintain the quality of education and support we provide to students,” says Shireen Chengadu, Chief Academic Officer at Richfield. “It also helps us identify where we can improve, so that we continue strengthening teaching, learning and the student experience.”
BAC accreditation complements Richfield’s existing South African accreditation and regulatory registration. Its programmes are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and the institution is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). This international assessment adds a further layer of institutional quality assurance alongside national requirements.
“This accreditation strengthens Richfield’s credibility within the international higher education community and distinguishes our institution within South Africa’s private higher education sector,” says Stefan Ferreira, Group CEO at Growth Ten. “Our responsibility is to sustain these standards as the needs of students, employers and the broader economy evolve.”
Richfield will continue to build on this achievement through its commitment to quality, professionalism and continuous improvement. Its approved accreditation statement is: “Accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education as an Independent Higher Education provider”.
Richfield offers undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications through its Faculty of Information Technology and Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, with pathways from entry-level qualifications through to advanced postgraduate study, including a fully online MBA.
