Students who choose the AGA (SA) route can, upon completion, enter a SAICA-approved training contract to gain the work experience required to qualify as an Associate General Accountant (AGA SA).

In your final year, you’ll specialise in Accounting and at least one of the following areas: Taxation, Financial Management & Managerial Accounting, or Auditing & Assurance, to meet SAICA’s requirements. Students wishing to advance further may pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) to progress toward the Chartered Accountant (CA SA) designation.

You can gain admission to the Bachelor of Commerce AGA (Associate General Accountant) (SAICA endorsed) if you meet one of the following:

    A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with an endorsement for admission to a Degree.

  • National Certificate Vocational (NCV)

    NQF Level 4 with appropriate subject combination and levels of achievements.

  • Further Education and Training

    Further Education and Training (FET) NQF Level 4.

  • Mature Age Exemption

    For students above the age of 23 as set out in the Higher Education Regulations.
