Faculty of Public Management & Local Government SAQA ID No. 99717 NQF 6 370 Credits 3 Years Register OnlineThe Diploma in Local Government Management has been designed to meet the workplace needs particularly in the fields of Local Government Management, the IDP, Service Delivery, the legislative and policy process, Local Government Finance, performance management and HRM. This qualification has been developed for the South African context of Public Management while drawing on themes from International Qualifications.
The main purpose of the programme is to:
• create a new calibre of local government cadres who promote developmental local government,
• promote equity by providing affordable access to public management education to learners previously denied such opportunities.
Admission Requirements
- The minimum entry requirement is the National Senior Certificate starting a Diploma or Degree or the National Certificate (Vocational) with appropriate subject combinations and level of achievement; or
- Mature Age Exemption for students above the age of 23 years as set out in the Higher Education Regulations; or
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
